For my graduation from the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam in 2017, I showed an installation of two- and three-dimensional work.
In the space were three large metal cages containing long-haired guinea pigs selected for ‘beauty’, from a breed that only occurs in captivity. On the cages was a mountain landscape in unnatural colours, made of paper. On one of the cages was water.
The large collage (120 x 110 cm) shows an artificial landscape that is made of dozens of small pieces from landscapes across the world, which together form a landscape that at first glance seems to be one whole.
